As a neonatologist, Dr. Sudeep Kukreja works 80-100 hours a week tending to some of the littlest and sickest of patients. While many people may see these infants as weak, Dr. Kukreja draws strength from them, and was inspired to run 26.2 miles in their honor. Despite having little time to train and an injured knee, Dr. Kukreja recently finished the Los Angeles Marathon – his first. Not only did he cross the finish line under six hours, he also brought in close to $7,000 for the NICU, thanks to the friends and colleagues who sponsored him. Completing the race was a victory for Dr. Kukreja and a wonderful celebration of the victories he helps secure for CHOC’s NICU babies
