Orthopedic Institute 

Regionally recognized for pediatric musculoskeletal care, the CHOC Orthopedic Institute provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for children and teens—purpose-built for growing bodies and delivered by board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine specialists, and physical/occupational therapists. Care is coordinated end-to-end with pediatric specialists, equipment, and facilities.  

The Institute offers innovative specialty programs and outpatient clinics, plus tightly integrated, family-centered care. Multidisciplinary partners include physiatrists, neurosurgery/neurology, rheumatology, pulmonology, cardiology, nurses/NPs, PAs and orthopedic technicians. CHOC also provides robust child life and family support.

Orthopedic research at CHOC focuses on areas such as neuroengineering, robotics, exercise physiology, and functional genomics—advancing treatment and rehabilitation for kids. Recent work spans topics from tibial tubercle fracture outcomes to ACL pain management and supracondylar humerus fracture care.
