Camacho, Jose – MD

Jose Camacho, M.D. is CHOC Specialist in Chemical and Biochemical Genetics, board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics in pediatrics and medical biochemical genetics. Dr. Camacho received his medical degree from the University Central del Caribe, School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He completed his internship and residency training at the University of Missouri, Columbia Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Camacho completed fellowship training in human genetics at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital.

 

He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Camacho received the American Society of Human Genetics Research (Post-Doc) Award and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Faculty Development Award. Dr. Camacho is fluent in Spanish. His special interests include research in Urea Cycle Disorders and Mitochondrial Carrier Proteins. His philosophy is that patient care always comes first.
